It's 9:30, and even though my wife, who is the best of all possible wives, tried multiple Best Buy's this morning, there is no XBox 360 for me. Worse yet, my cubicle mate, who is a half-hearted gamer, just called me to say that he got his. Fucker. Bastard.
The good news is that D isn't dead, just very tired. And maybe, just maybe, resupply trucks will bring new 360's to stores who will sell one to me in the next couple of days, so I don't have to brave the holidays without my next gen video game lovin.
Pray for me. (I'd recommend C'thulu as diety of choice here. If anygod can get me a 360, it would have to be the old deep one himself.)

If Jesus really loved you...
...he'd bring you an X-Box 360...Further proof that that slap-happy song and the diety it praises are not real...

Perhaps you should make an altar for the 360, burn incense and chant until you get one!
And boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo that you did not get one first!

Praise Bob
Actually, I have to think that if any deity is interested in your gaming needs it would have to be BOB!More slack for the money.

Re: Praise Bob
Actually, I think Bob wouldn't care because he already has six of them, still in the box, using them in place of cinder blocks for his shelving unit.November 22 2005, 17:40:10 UTC 6 years ago
Re: Praise Bob
Bob's waiting for Connie to come set the game up so he won't have to. You know that's how it's gonna happen, right? Bob will burst into the bedroom all excited and Connie's gonna be thinking, "FINALLY I'M GONNA GET SOME!" -- and Bob will push her aside, saving his hot strokin' for the game controller....November 22 2005, 17:17:24 UTC 6 years ago
Interestingly enough...
Here at work, the hardcore gamers are all "sick..."I wonder how many man hours were lost today with the release of the Xbox 360...?

Re: Interestingly enough...
Lots. I wish I had blown off work, but I couldn't afte the phone fiasco yesterday. Fuck! An old lady upstairs just let me know that she bought one for her grandkids at Sam's this morning. Fuck, fuck, fuck. It's going to sit in her closet until Christmas. I told her I'd give her a new work computer if she'd sell it to me, but no dice.November 22 2005, 17:42:00 UTC 6 years ago
Re: Interestingly enough...
You know, with the proper motivation, I could probably be talked into "acquiring" that for you... I wonder what other treasures are hiding in her closet, and how much it'll all fetch on Ebay....November 22 2005, 18:36:51 UTC 6 years ago
Re: Interestingly enough...
If it's gonna sit until Christmas...and they will have more available...you'd think she'd be nice and let you buy that one and then buy one later.Evil harpy!
They've gotta be out there somewhere...
If I were truly evil, I would have snagged one last night and talked about how cool it is, but then you'd have to take sick pleasure in killing me.
And reading some of your stories, you're one of the LAST people I'd want in charge of my slow and painful death...

Re: Interestingly enough...
I can't believe she won't let you have it and get her a replacement in a couple days. Not to mention that you offered her a nice upgrade for the effort.Gah, people are annoying sometimes.

Hmmm...
Maybe it's a good thing you aren't getting a 360 yet. I'm starting to see reports of XBox 360s crashing left and right.November 23 2005, 17:28:58 UTC 6 years ago
Re: Hmmm...
Yeah, I've seen those too. I'm not terribly worried, though. As an early adopter, you get used to seeing the first units that roll out have some issues. The PS2's were the same way. A huge number of the PSP's rolled out with problems as well, and the original XBox had issues. It's hard to tell how many there really are, between the earlyness and the limited release. Also hard to tell if we're looking at software errors, hardware issues, or simple overheating.Regardless, the drought suggests I'm not getting one anytime soon anyway.
